A fully automatic potato chips making machine (or production line) is an integrated industrial system designed to transform raw potatoes into finished, packaged chips with minimal human intervention. These systems are typically constructed from food-grade SS 304 stainless steel to ensure hygiene and durability.

  1. Washing & Peeling: Raw potatoes are loaded into a unit that uses high-pressure water and abrasive rollers to remove dirt and skins.
  2. Slicing: A high-speed slicer cuts potatoes into uniform slices (flat, wavy, or ridged) with adjustable thickness.
  3. Blanching & Starch Removal: Slices are washed to remove excess starch, then blanched in hot water to preserve natural colour and improve texture.
  4. Dewatering: High-frequency vibration or air-blowing systems remove surface moisture to reduce frying time and oil consumption.
  5. Continuous Frying: The "heart" of the line, where slices are fried at controlled temperatures (typically around 180°C) for consistent crispiness.
  6. De-oiling & Cooling: Excess oil is removed via vibration or centrifugal force, followed by cooling to room temperature to prevent sogginess.
  7. Seasoning: A rotating drum evenly coats the chips with salt or various flavors (masala, tomato, etc.).
